“It may seems strange but I decided to make books when I was 7-8 years old. I always drew and created stories. Until now I jealously keep the books from my childhood. To draw is what I like to do most above all : specially to draw faces, town’s streets, vegetation and hands” she says. In 1996 she won the first prize in the worldwide illustration competition “Figures Futur” (Paris-France,) then the Prix Andersen, the Special mentioning at the Bologna Ragazzi Award in Italy and the Book Prize in Taipei (Taiwan). In 1998 she started a collaboration as poster artist for the Centre Pompidou until 2010.
Why this work
“Posters and coverbooks have to be summaries and they must be strong and simple at the same time. To illustrate the Paul Auster’s trilogy was interesting, I like to imagine that behind each building’s window or door I’ve shown, there are people and stories to discover.”
