Why this work
“The reason why I have chosen Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is not only to celebrate the wonderful book but also to pay homage to my father whose great taste has introduced me to the works of John le Carré, which led me to the wonderful world of Cold War espionage. I am always fascinated by that part of the history - the secrets and mysteries and codes so captivating and almost, in a sense, romantic.” “I must confess I found it rather hard to design because one would not want to use too many elements from the book in case one spoils the story for everyone, but Tinker Tailor is one of those books where people vaguely know what happens (but not really) so I have sort of used that to my advantage. While not wanting to replicate previous book covers, I tried to stay away from the Cold War harshness and used ink and handwritten typography.”
