Why this work
“We really like the work of Charles Dickens. Stories about finding your personality in the world is interesting, and also relevant to our own life and age.”
“The story of David Copperfield is the story where the main character is trying to find his own personality and a place to live. While the story unfolds, Copperfield is developing an idea of what he wants to do with his life and Dickens describes the different stages his life goes through. We’re associating these stages with several portraits that are hanging on a wall. These frames are getting from transparent to touchable, because his personality is also developing. We’ve put the text behind these frames. The text is running through the frames, like the different characters and friends who enter and leave his life.”
