About the artist: Lola Roigfrom Spain

After a brief stay at the Fine Arts University in Barcelona, Lola Roig followed drawing and illustration at the DaVinci school and also at the Escola de la Dona - E. Francesca Bonnemaison in Barcelona. Since 2000 She has held exhibitions and also participated in painting and illustration projects. Recently she has published her first two books and the third is underway. For a couple of years, she imparted illustration workshops. Lola is interested in the dream world, poetry, the magic of word and image, which is sensed, discover little by little. She also likes to explore the emotions of human beings.

“A lot of years ago I saw the movie “Dangerous Liaisons” and reminded me those power plays between different people. I was also surprised by the powerful aesthetics of the film. I later read the book and have come across characters that show the best and worst of human beings. I liked it because I’m always interested to capture emotions and feelings in human expressions. And Choderlos’ book offers a diverse emotional catalogue.”
